Safety in the Bush

The Club publishes Safety in the Bush as a continuing service to new members of the Club and the public. It was first published in 1962 and is now in its Eighth Edition. It is sold in bookshops throughout Tasmania, as well as parts of mainland Australia. It is also available from the Club.(See end of page.)
The book deals with topics such as clothing and equipment, food, camping techniques, first aid in the bush, and difficulties and dangers. The section on route finding and navigation has been revised, with exercises to make understanding of navigation easier. Some excerpts are given on our page Bush Safety.
This book is a must for all who walk or travel in isolated areas, especially in Tasmania, but it is also applicable to mainland Australia's mountainous and forested areas.

The Tasmanian Tramp

The Tasmanian Tramp is the Club magazine and is usually published every second year. Each issue has illustrated articles of general interest to bushwalkers, photographs and sketches, as well as descriptions of walking trips in various parts of Tasmania and sometimes interstate or overseas.
