You will be able to immediately join in our Club activities. As a Prospective Member you must book in for each trip by phoning the trip coordinator before attending.

Gaining Full Membership
To gain full membership of the Club, three qualifying trips and a Club Essential Skills Day must be completed within 12 months of becoming a Prospective Member.

  • Two of the qualifying trips must be qualifying Club walks.
  • The third could be a hut working bee, a Club organised track clearing day, a training weekend, a bicycle trip of at least 35 kms, a ski trip, a kayak trip of a least 14 nautical miles or another qualifying Club walk.
  • The Essential Skills Day is an opportunity to learn about the Club. It includes some basic instruction in bushcraft, what to put in your pack, map reading and use of a compass, survival and care of the bush environment along with information on navigating the Club website.

A Full Member of at least 12 months standing (usually the New Members Officer) will then nominate you for Full Membership.

If you are currently a member of another Australian bushwalking club, you may apply for exemption from the prospective stage of membership. If you wish to discuss this, please contact the New Members Officer.
